Roof Inspection in New Jersey: What's Included

A roof inspection in New Jersey from us looks at the whole roof, not just the spot you called about. You get photos of what we find and a written summary, whether or not you need any work.

  • Shingles: granule loss, curling, cracking, missing pieces
  • Flashing at chimneys, walls, skylights and valleys
  • Penetrations: pipe boots, vents, exhaust caps
  • Gutters and drip edge
  • The attic, where accessible: moisture, staining, ventilation, and the decking from below
  • An estimate of remaining service life

What the Inspection Covers

Most of what fails on a roof fails at the edges and openings, so that's where most of the time goes. From the attic we look for water stains, damp insulation, daylight through the decking, and signs of poor ventilation such as frost or condensation on the underside of the deck. On the roof we check every slope and every penetration.

If a roof can't be walked safely because of its pitch or the weather, we'll tell you, and work from a ladder and the attic instead.

How Our Roof Inspection Process Works

  1. Book a time. Use the estimate form or contact us directly. Most inspections take about an hour.
  2. Inspection. Roof, flashing, gutters and attic.
  3. Photos. Every issue photographed.
  4. Condition report. What's wrong, what's fine, and what to watch.
  5. Options, if you need them. A written estimate for any repair or replacement, with no obligation.

Why the Inspection Is Free

Because it's how we earn the work. A free roof inspection lets you see the problem with your own eyes before deciding anything, and it lets us price from what is really there instead of guessing over the phone. If the roof is fine, we'll tell you that too.

Thinking about roof inspection? We inspect, photograph what we find and put the price in writing. Free, with no obligation.

What You Can Do With the Report

Use it to plan: a roof with ten good years left and a roof that needs replacing next spring call for different budgets. Homeowners also use the report when buying or selling a house, and after a storm the dated photos help with a claim; see how insurance claims work with us.

Roof Inspection FAQs

Still have a question?

(201) 757-3945
Is the roof inspection really free?

Yes. The inspection, the photos and the written estimate cost nothing, and there's no obligation to book any work.

What does a roof inspection include?

Every slope, the flashing and penetrations, the gutters, and the attic where we can get into it, followed by photos and a written condition report.

How often should a roof be inspected?

Every couple of years, after any major storm, and before buying or selling a house. Roofs over 15 years old are worth checking every year.

Can you inspect for a home sale or an insurance claim?

Yes. The dated photos and written report are useful for both.
